Welcome. We are The Broken

The Broken is an alternative rock trio, established in 2014 in Chicago. We play an eclectic genre of music we call "Post-Sad Ska". It's a description that makes music nerds amused, and our parents perpetually confused. Our music draws strong influences from Post-Punk and Grunge, with a strong horn presence in place of a more conventional lead guitar or synth. Our sound ranges from "Nirvana MTV Unplugged, plus a Trumpet" to "one phase pedal away from spiraling down the Shoegaze pipeline". While our lyrical content, more often than not, wanders the realms of melancholic introspection and nihilistic cynicism.
